I dont know if she means it or not?

There is a girl in my life that means a lot to me and i care about dearly. We are not dating, I would love to but things wont work out for that at the moment. She tells me that she loves me and when she calls me or talks to me she sys, hey my love or hey my dear. My question is that when girls say I love you or call you there love do they mean what they say or are the just words???
